You know you went to Bible college when: You do word studies in your spare time.
This year, during Advent, I am studying how the word “waiting” is used in both the Hebrew and Greek throughout the Bible. So far, I am merely skimming the surface of 8 of the Hebrew words translated in English as “wait” (there are more!), and I hope a longer blog entry will appear out of all of this (once I finish looking at the Greek too!). For now, by the light of the Christmas tree and tea in hand (note the PBU mug!), I’m enjoying searching the Scriptures and learning a little more of what it means to “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him…” (Psalm 37:7).
