Egyptian gods. And coffee.

I am so thankful that the teachers’ room had free coffee out today. I just can’t seem to wake up. Luckily, neither can my first period class so we’re just all tired together. But for OT today we get to talk about the Egyptian gods and the plagues – and I just never realized how all of this went together so perfectly! The Plagues were so purposeful in discrediting specific gods – to make Yahweh’s power and glory known all the more.

A year ago, I might have laughed at you if you told me that in a year I’d be spending two weeks teaching a Bible class. I never thought of myself as a teacher, though I’d given it thought. I was just to afraid of standing up in front of 20-25 students daily to teach them. And yet, God’s irony in my life strikes again that I end up doing that which I said I’d never do… and actually enjoying it. I suppose this is just so his power and glory would be made all the more known in my life too.

Those damn Egyptian gods.
